Dunstaffnage
Castle, Oban
An imposing and much photographed medieval castle.
It was built by the MacDougalls, Lords of Lorne in
the 13th century, currently being restored.
Dunollie Castle, Oban
Dunollie Castle is a contemporary of Dunstaffnage,
and was a stronghold of the Scots kings in their efforts
to contain the restless clans of the area. The ivy-clad
structure sits on a rocky promontory above Oban bay
